With the conclusion of the 2024-25 NBA season, we now have the improved information needed to bookend the Blazers’ famous 2022 trade for forward Jerami Grant. Once a moment of celebration among Blazers fans as a possible steal, the trade’s status has grown complicated in subsequent seasons. First, let’s recap the trade.
Portland Trail Blazers received:
- Jerami Grant
- 2022 46th pick (which has since been flipped for future second-rounders)
Detroit Pistons received:
- 2022 36th pick (Gabriele Procida)
- 2025 19th pick (from Milwaukee)
- 2025 47th pick (Returning Detroit’s own pick)
- Portland’s 2026 second-round draft pick
While we don’t know the placement of the future second-rounders, we now have a much better picture of what the Blazers gave up for Grant, and the early results of the transaction.
