Portland Trail Blazers’ Simons rewarded for Summer League efforts

The future seems brighter every day for Young Ant.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons was named to the All-Summer League 2nd team on Monday.

Before exiting with an ankle injury against the Utah Jazz, Simons was giving out buckets left and right in Las Vegas. Over three games, Simons averaged 22.0 points per game while shooting 56% from the field.

The Blazers are expecting big things out of the second year guard from IMG Academy. Although he did not contribute much as a rookie, he used the year to develop his lanky frame for the league, adding strength to be able to deal with infamous NBA physicality.
