Frank Vogel is out in Phoenix. The Suns fired their head coach one year after hiring him, and now search for a new candidate to lead Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal toward contention. Adrian Wojnarowski reported the story, and named former Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer as a possible replacement.
Vogel’s Suns finished with a record of 49-33, and they were swept out of the first round by the ascending Minnesota Timberwolves. He had replaced Monty Williams, who coached the team to the NBA Finals (losing to Budenholzer’s Bucks), but was released after an underwhelming 2023 Playoffs loss to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets.
