Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are setting the new per-year max extension record with their two-year $145 million contract agreement. Shams Charania reported the news, citing CAA’s Jessica Holtz and Melvin Booker.
The record was previously held by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who signed his $71.25 million average per season extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. Booker’s extension is worth $72.5 million per year, and he is now under contract with the Suns for five years, through the 2029-2030 season. Booker is owed a staggering $316 million for those upcoming seasons.
Booker has played his entire career in Phoenix after being drafted with the 13th pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
