Chet Holmgren and OKC Agree To Max Rookie Extension

The reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, have locked down another key piece for years to come. Chet Holmgren has agreed to a maximum rookie extension according to ESPN’s Shams Charania who cited Bill Duffy of WME Basketball. The extension is for five additional years fully guaranteed, keeping him under contract through the 2030-31 season.

Holmgren joins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in signing a lucrative extension this off-season with the champs. Gilgeous-Alexander signed his extension on Tuesday, also keeping him with the Thunder through 2031.

Holmgren was the second selection in the 2022 NBA Draft, but sat out the entire 2022-23 due to a Lisfranc injury to his right foot.
