Place in History:

For the first 48 years of their existence between 1970-2018, the Portland Trail Blazers operated under two ownership regimes.

The first, captained by co-founder Larry Weinberg (initially with fellow investors Herman Sarkowsky and Robert Schmertz) carried Portland through the 1977 World Championship and most of the 1980’s.
