Blazers Don’t Extend Qualifying Offer to Jabari Walker

The Portland Trail Blazers did not extend a qualifying offer to forward Jabari Walker, meaning he will become an unrestricted free agent. The Rose Garden Report’s Sean Highkin reported the news via social media.

The Blazers had the option of extending a one-year contract to Walker, who wrapped up the last year of his rookie contract this past season. Had they extended this qualifying offer, Walker would have become a restricted free agent, allowing the Blazers to match any offers from other NBA teams. The Blazers could in theory still re-sign Walker, but they have lost that ability to match any other offers that Walker might receive.
