The Portland Trail Blazers have added James Posey as an assistant coach on head coach Chauncey Billups’ staff, the organization announced Thursday.
Posey, 48, arrives in Portland with 25 years of NBA experience as a player and coach. He won three NBA titles during that span, capturing two as a player (2006, 2008) and one as an assistant coach (2016).
Most recently, Posey spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns. Before that, Posey spent two seasons as an assistant with the Washington Wizards from 2022 to 2024.
