Aminu, Nigeria Qualify for Brazil 2016

Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Nigeria punched their tickets to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with a 74-65 victory over Angola in the 2015 AfroBasket Final on Sunday in Rades, Tunisia. Aminu scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds to help Nigeria to its first-ever continental championship.

With the AfroBasket title, Nigeria earns automatic qualification to next summer's Olympics.

Over seven games, Aminu averaged 12 points and 5.4 rebounds in the tournament to earn a spot on the AfroBasket 2015 All-Star Five. Nigeria's Chamberlain Oguchi was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

The 2016 Summer Olympics begin on August 5, 2016.
