Blazers Free Agency Rumors Roundup For July 3rd

We're midway through the third day of the 2015 NBA free agency period, and there's PLENTY to talk about right about now if you're a Portland Trail Blazers fan. Here's our Blazers Free Agency Rumors Roundup For July 3rd.

Wesley Matthews To Dallas

Per an AP Report:

"Free agent guard Wesley Matthews and the Mavericks have agreed on a four-year deal with financial terms that will depend on whether center DeAndre Jordan decides to join him in Dallas.

"A person with knowledge of the deal says Matthews and the Mavericks reached an agreement in principle late Thursday night and will wait on the decision from Jordan, who is apparently choosing between the Mavericks and his original team, the Los Angeles Clippers."

Jordan did indeed agreed to sign with the Mavs on Friday at a reported four years and $80 million, so Matthews will likely take a reduced rate to join him in Dallas.

Matthews suffered a ruptured Achilles in a game against the Mavericks in March, and it is unclear whether he's going to be ready for the start of the 2015-16 season. He reportedly turned down a four-year, $64 million offer from the Sacramento Kings before making the decison to head to Dallas.

Damian Lillard Has "Honest" Conversation With LaMarcus Aldridge

After re-upping with the Blazers on a max deal yesterday, Damian Lillard called up LaMarcus Aldridge for an "honest" conversation centered on Aldridge's impending decision in free agency.

"I just wanted to express to him how important he is to the organization,'' Lillard said. "And give my honest feelings of how I feel about him as a player/teammate and what I think we can accomplish together.''

Lillard added that he didn't engage in any "sales pitch B.S." with Aldridge. Rather, the two had a long back-and-forth discussion where both sides said their peace. Aldridge is still considered to be leaning towards San Antonio, but there's still no guarantees just what he'll decide to do until a final decision is made.
