Timbers Preseason Recap: Portland battles back to draw Sporting Kansas City

The Portland Timbers’ time in the desert finished up with a back and forth 3-3 draw against Sporting Kansas at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona.

In Portland’s first full 90-minute scrimmage against an MLS side, they played their presumptive starters for the longest stretch so far in the preseason:

That opening group battled out the opening stages of the match, with the first major action for the Timbers coming by way of Felipe Mora firing narrowly wide of the post after a peach of a through ball from Diego Valeri.
