PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers midfielder Andy Polo was called up by Peru for a pair of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches during the international break.
Polo, 26, will miss the Timbers’ league match against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday, Oct. 7, missing five MLS matches in total, but will return to the team ahead of Portland’s regular-season match against the LA Galaxy at Providence Park on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Receiving his first call-up since being named to Peru’s roster for a pair of friendlies in November of 2019, Polo and Peru will first square off against Paraguay at Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción, Paraguay, on Thursday, Oct.
