The "Double Post Bar" is Real; Opening March 6th

Once upon a time, Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson tweeted that if the team ever won an MLS Cup, he would buy the Timbers Army a bar. Now it appears that his promise is coming true.

The Timbers announced today that the "Double Post Bar", named for the miraculously missed penalty by Sporting Kansas City player Saad Abdul-Salaam in the 2015 Western Conference play-in game when his attempt struck both posts before bouncing to safety, will open on March 6th at 1:30 p.m. for the Timbers' 2016 home opener.

The bar will be located inside Providence Park, off the concourse behind section 109, and will be open on match days for both Timbers and Thorns games.
