The full 2019 Major League Soccer schedule was unveiled today, and it comes with some big news for Portland Timbers fans. Thanks to the continuing construction at Providence Park, the Timbers’ first 12 games of the season will be played on the road, while 11 of the last 12 will be played at home. As previously reported, the Timbers’ home opener will be June 1st against Los Angeles FC.
With the addition of FC Cincinnati, the league returns to a balanced schedule with each team playing conference opponents twice and non-conference opponents once. As such, the Cascadia Cup returns to balance, and the Timbers will kick off their Cascadia Cup action on May 10th in Vancouver, while the return match will be the first of a ten-game home stand three months later on August 10th.
