Noted MLS journalist Sam Stejskal, writing for MLSSoccer.com, reports the Portland Timbers are kicking the tires on disaffected Columbus Crew winger Justin Meram.

Meram, 29, has been nothing short of excellent for the Crew over the last four years, registering 32 goals and 29 assists in that time.
