PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers opened the 2017 MLS regular-season with a commanding 5-1 win over expansion side Minnesota United FC. Defender Lawrence Olum scored his first goal in a Timbers MLS uniform while Diego Valeri and Fanendo Adi each earned second half braces in the victory.
