During his first season as Portland Timbers head coach in 2013, Caleb Porter often spoke about his vision for building a club that could contend for championships and trophies year in and year out.
That vision appears to be finally coming to fruition.
Three years after Porter took over at the helm, the Timbers have an MLS Cup trophy under their belt and, maybe more importantly, boast a young core of starting players capable of competing for titles for the foreseeable future.
"We're in a position now more than ever where we have a healthy club," Porter said.
