PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers announced today that the club has been nominated for a 2017 Emmy Award by the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the category “Sports – One-Time Special.” The Timbers are nominated for the team’s internally produced retrospective, “The Magic Was Real,” which traced the team’s historic 2015 MLS Cup run.
The special featured stunning cinematography, capturing key moments of the team’s unbeaten push through the playoffs that culminated in the club’s first MLS championship, along with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and a soundtrack sourced from the Timbers’ local music partner, Marmoset Music.
