Portland Thorns FC acquires Cyrstal Dunn in three-team trade

Portland Thorns FC announced Thursday that they acquired midfielder Crystal Dunn from OL Reign as a part of a three team trade between the Thorns, Reign, and North Carolina Courage. In return, the Thorns sent the Reign allocation money, an international roster spot for 2021, and a natural first-round pick in the 2022 NWSL College Draft.

The Thorns will give the Reign $150,000 upon execution of the trade and another $50,000 on Jan. 1, 2021, with additional money depending on Dunn’s future playing status in the NWSL. OL Reign sent goalkeeper Casey Murphy to North Carolina as well as $140,000 in allocation money.
