On Monday morning, Major League Soccer announced which players will be eligible for Austin FC to select in the 2020 MLS Expansion Draft.
Austin will have the chance to select five of 160 players from 16 teams in the draft on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The Portland Timbers are one of 10 teams exempt due to having Zarek Valentin selected in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft.
After the draft, the End-of-Year Waivers will begin starting on Wednesday, Dec. 16, giving teams who finished towards the bottom of MLS a chance to select players who are typically out-of-contract and young.
