The latest USWNT roster was released today, ahead of two friendly matches against New Zealand slated for September 15 and 19. The Thorns’ Tobin Heath, Allie Long, and Lindsey Horan are all on the 18-woman roster.
Heath’s inclusion is rather inexplicable, as she got back to Portland only last week after spending the whole season rehabbing a back injury. Chicago’s Morgan Brian, Boston’s Rose Lavelle, and Seattle’s Megan Rapinoe are all also on the roster; Brian has been dealing with a nagging injury all season, and Lavelle returned to the field for Boston just last weekend after recovering from the last injury she sustained with the national team, back in June.
