Former Timbers captain Liam Ridgewell joins PTFC broadcasting team

Ridgy is back in the Rose City... behind the microphone this time. The Portland Timbers announced today that Liam Ridgewell has rejoined the club as a member of the Timbers’ broadcasting team. Ridgewell will join normal commentators Jake Zivin and Ross Smith as an analyst in the booth for locally broadcast Timbers matches. He will also help produce content across all of the club’s digital platforms.

Ridgewell was originally signed by the Timbers as a designated player during the 2014 season. The seasoned English center back served as team captain and was an anchor for Portland’s backline, helping lead the team to its first MLS Cup title in 2015 and its appearance in the MLS Cup final in 2018.
