It only took nine seasons for Diego Chara to be named to a MLS All-Star squad, and now he’ll be able to showcase his talents against La Liga side Atletico Madrid. He’s one of 26 players named to play on July 31st in Orlando. He will also be the Timbers lone representative at this year's All-Star Game.
The 33-year-old defensive midfielder is the Portland Timbers all-time leader in MLS regular-season appearances (244), games started (242) and minutes played (21,412) across all eras (1975-current). Chara, a three-time Timbers Players’ Player of the Year, has appeared in at least 27 matches in eight consecutive seasons.
