For the third consecutive year, the Portland Timbers, along with all other 23 MLS clubs, will celebrate the Greener Goals Week of Service by wearing special adidas x Parley eco-friendly kits during Earth Day weekend (April 19-21). These innovative Climalite kits are made from technical yarns comprised of Parley Ocean Plastic, plastic waste collected on beaches and in coastal communities and transformed into high-performance sportswear. For the Timbers, they will wear the limited edition kits when they face Columbus Crew SC on Apr. 20 (4:30pm PT, FOX 12 Plus).
The collaboration between MLS, adidas and Parley for the Oceans encourages fans to decrease their use of single-use plastics and reinforce the importance of changing human attitude and behavior towards plastic pollution through the Parley AIR Strategy: Avoid.
