The National Women’s Soccer League announced today the June Team of the Month. Portland Thorns FC’s Becky Sauerbrunn was included on the team.
During the month of June, Sauerbrunn was calm and safe when starting build-up from the back. She completed 85% of her passes in the Thorns’ defensive half. Sauerbrunn was also a dominate aerial presence, winning 80% of her aerial duels.
Sauerbrunn will participate in the U.S. Women’s National Team’s Send off Series before traveling to Tokyo to captain the USWNT in the Olympic Games. The USWNT play Mexico today and on July 5 at 4:30 p.
