LONG BEACH, Calif. – Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge picked up singles wins against players form host Long Beach State to highlight day two of the Beach Tennis Winter Invite at the Rhodes Tennis Center for the Pilots. Pethybridge also teamed up Rimona Rouf to win in doubles for the second straight afternoon.
Zelic defeated Nikola Homolkova 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 and Pethybridge earned a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 comeback win against Sheena Masuda. Pethybridge and Rouf defeated a doubles tandem from CSUN by a 6-2 margin to start the day.
Portland will conclude the tournament Sunday against Long Beach State in doubles and Boise State in singles.
