LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Saint Mary's has been tabbed as the unanimous favorite in the 2017-18 West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Poll, the league announced on Thursday. The Gaels secured the maximum nine first place votes as determined by the league's ten head coaches.
2017 NCAA finalist Gonzaga grabbed the other first place vote and was picked second, while BYU edged San Francisco for third. Portland came in ninth with 21 total votes, one spot ahead of Loyola Marymount.
Pilot head coach Terry Porter is beginning his second year at the helm and has a lot of new faces on the 2017-18 Portland roster.
