Walker, Shaver Jr. Combine for 43 in Beating Sacramento State

PORTLAND, Ore. – Sophomore guards JoJo Walker and Marcus Shaver Jr. combined for 43 points and freshman center Hugh Hogland added a career-high 13 off the bench as the Portland Pilots defeated Sacramento State 76-67 Saturday night at the Chiles Center.

The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Pilots (6-5) and snapped the best start in Division I program history for the Hornets (4-2).

Walker drained 5-of-7 three-pointers and finished with 22 points, three rebounds and four assists. It marks his third 20-point game of the season. Shaver Jr. finished an efficient 5-of-9 from the field and 10-for-12 at the free throw line for 21 points.
