Vikings Hold Off Pilots in Rose City Thriller

PORTLAND, Ore. – Calaen Robinson hit a late three-pointer and the Portland State Vikings held on for a 77-75 victory over the Portland Pilots in an intense city rivalry game before 2,679 fans Tuesday night at the Chiles Center.

The Pilots (7-4) overcame a 13-point deficit to take the lead late, but the Vikings (6-4) converted last in a game that featured numerous clutch plays.

Portland junior forward Gabe Taylor, the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Week, recorded a game-high 22 points including two late baskets in crunch time. Senior point guard Alec Wintering battled through early foul trouble to finish with 18 points and Jazz Johnson added 15.
