PORTLAND, Ore. -- The University of Portland Athletic Department announced today that proof of vaccination against COVID-19 will be required for admission to all Pilot home sporting events. The policy will begin with UP men's soccer's Sept. 6 match vs. UC San Diego at Merlo Field. If unable to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, fans must show documentation of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event to attend. Fans 12 and under do not need to show proof of vaccination.
"As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to increase in our state, it is important that we proactively employ public health measures to keep our fans, staff and student-athletes safe," University of Portland Vice President for Athletics Scott Leykam said.
