The University of Portland Pilots are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the passage of Title IX with a 50-day celebration of notable women and teams in Pilots history. The celebration will kick off on May 4 with a woman or team recognized every day until June 23, the 50th anniversary of Title IX being signed into law.
"Title IX is about access to education, and millions of women have access to the educational, leadership, and professional development lessons that are learned by participating in sports because of the passage of Title IX," said Karen Peters, Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator for the Pilots.
