Three-Run 10th Hands Pepperdine Dramatic Win over Pilots

MALIBU, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots recovered from an early deficit and scored two runs in the top of the 10th inning to seemingly take control of the game, but the Pepperdine Waves answered with three in the bottom of the frame to win 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium. The Waves scored the winning run by drawing a walk with the bases loaded.

The win also gives the three-game West Coast Conference series to Pepperdine (20-18, 10-8 WCC), after the two teams split the first two contests.

After the game went to extra innings tied 2-2, Michael Forgione began the 10th with a single, which was followed by a base hit from Jason Rosen to give the Pilots (15-24, 2-13 WCC) runners on the corners.
