Stifling Defense Leads Pilots Past Prairie View A&M

HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Portland Pilots defeated Prairie View A&M 80-54 on Sunday to finish 2-0 at the Bank of Hawaii Classic hosted at the Stan Sheriff Center. Portland held the Panthers (1-4) to 32 percent shooting for the game and forced 27 turnovers in the lopsided victory.

Alex Fowler led four Pilots (4-1) in double figures with 14 points and nine rebounds. Haylee Andrews stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Emme Shearer and Liana Kaitu'u added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Fowler and Andrews got the Pilots going early as the team would lead start-to-finish.
