PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Brigham Young Cougars took control of the game from the opening tip and never looked back en route to a 77-38 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's basketball game played on Saturday afternoon at the Chiles Center.
It was a tough day shooting for the Pilots (4-19, 2-10 WCC) as BYU (14-9, 8-4 WCC) held the home team to just 20 percent from the field. The Cougars countered with 48 percent shooting, and were led by Kalani Purcell, who registered a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. BYU's Makenzi Pulsipher, who connected on three three-pointers during the third quarter, scored a game-high 16 points.
