PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland sophomore guard Marcus Shaver Jr. scored a career-high 25 points, but the Pacific Tigers pulled out a 65-57 victory Saturday night in the West Coast Conference home opener at the Chiles Center for the Pilots. The Tigers improved to 11-8 overall and 1-3 in WCC play, while the Pilots fell to 7-11 and 0-3 in league games.
Lafayette Dorsey had 21 for Pacific and Jahlil Tripp added a double-double 17 points and 11 rebounds, including 11 in the second half.
Shaver Jr. was an efficient 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from three point range.
