Shaver Jr. Scores 21, but Pilots Fall to Toreros

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland sophomore guard Marcus Shaver Jr. recorded his second straight game with 20 or more points, but the Pilots struggled offensively and fell dropped a 76-55 decision to the San Diego Toreros on Thursday night in West Coast Conference men's basketball action at the Chiles Center.

Shaver Jr. finished with 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting and dished out four assists, but the Pilots (7-12, 0-4 WCC) as a team shot a season-low 31 percent overall.

After falling behind by 21 points midway through the first half, Shaver Jr. brought the Pilots back with flurry at the end of the period.
