The Portland men's and women's track and field teams continued the outdoor season this week with successful results at the Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa, Calif.) and the 62nd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (Walnut, Calif.).
Six Pilots competed on Thursday in distance events at the Mt. SAC Relays with all six establishing new personal bests highlighted by Veerle Bakker setting a new Portland women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase record with a time of 10:01.04. She shaved nearly 15 seconds off her PR to place seventh in the event.
Jacob Klemz highlighted the men's effort with a 12th-place finish in the 10,000-meter elite class with a time of 28:39.
