PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of Portland men's basketball game scheduled for this Monday against Santa Clara has been canceled, the West Coast Conference announced on Thursday. The game was rescheduled from Jan. 8 to Feb. 14 in early January when teams were navigating COVID protocols.
As part of the cancelation, the Pilots have scheduled a non-conference contest against NAIA institution Bushnell University on Tuesday, February 15 at the Chiles Center at 5 p.m. Fans can use their Santa Clara game ticket for admission to this game or purchase tickets for $5.
"We are extremely disappointed, and frustrated, with Santa Clara's last-minute decision not to make the trip to Portland on Monday," said Scott Leykam, Portland Vice President for Athletics.
