Ries Provides the Game-Winner as the Pilots Shutout New Mexico

SEATTLE, Wash. --- Junior Taryn Ries scored the game's only goal in the 27th minute and the Pilots registered their second straight shutout as they defeated the New Mexico Lobos 1-0 at the Husky Invitational on Thursday evening at Husky Soccer Stadium. It's the first goal and game-winner this year for Ries, who ranked in the top-10 nationally last season in both those categories.

Ries' goal came after the Pilots (1-0-1) survived an early surge by the Lobos (1-1-0) during the match's first 25 minutes. On a ball played in by Larkin Russell from the left wing, Ries took a touch just inside the top of the 18-yard box, let it bounce, and buried a strike into the back of the net.
