Rapinoe Named The Best FIFA Women’s Player of 2019

MILAN, Italy --- Portland women's soccer alum Megan Rapinoe ('08), the co-captain of the U.S. Women's National Team that took the world by storm in France this last summer as the USA won the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, has been named The Best FIFA Women's Player of 2019. Rapinoe received the award today at the 2019 The Best FIFA Football Award Ceremony in Milan, Italy

Forward Alex Morgan, who was one of the three finalists for The Best FIFA Women's Player, finished second (42 pts) in the voting, only four points behind Rapinoe (46 pts), while England defender Lucy Bronze finished third (29 pts).
