STANFORD, Calif. – Portland sophomore Lourdes Ramalle and junior Jelena Lukic each won a pair of singles and advanced to the Round of 32 after the first day of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, hosted by Stanford at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Ramalle posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Portland State's Eszter Zador in her first match and then outlasted Rita Colyer of San Francisco by a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in the Round of 64. She moves on to face No. 9-seed Emma Higuchi of Stanford on Saturday at 10:30 a.
