NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The 2017 baseball season opener for the Portland Pilots scheduled for Friday afternoon has been postponed at CSUN due to heavy rain in Southern California. Saturday's double header is still scheduled to start at 10 a.m. for the Pilots and Matadors, and the two teams will now play a double header on Sunday as well.
First pitch Sunday morning is set for 9 a.m.
Portland remains on the road next week when they travel to CSU Bakersfield for another four-game non-conference series, which begins on Thursday, Feb. 23. The Pilots' first play at Joe Etzel Field on March 9 when they host Northwestern for a four-game set.
