SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The 2016 WCC Volleyball Preseason Poll was released today and Portland was picked to finish seventh in conference. The Pilots are coming off of a historic year, which included the Pilots' first winning record since 1989 and the most overall wins since 1991. 2015 also featured the program's best start to a season ever, the most home wins since the Pilots began competing at the NCAA DI level, the program's first ever win over a ranked team and the most league wins since 1994.
The Pilots will return four of their five kill leaders from last year's team, graduating only Emily Liger who received All-WCC First Team recognition last fall.
