PORTLAND, Ore. --- The University of Portland men's and women's soccer teams both earned the 2016-17 College Team Academic Award, which was announced by the United Soccer Coaches last week.
The Portland women have a team GPA of 3.39, while the men have a combined GPA of 3.17.
A total of 838 soccer teams (293 men, 545 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2016-17 academic year. Of that total, 208 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
