Portland falls at Pepperdine in bizarre double overtime heartbreaker

MALIBU, Calif. – The Portland men's basketball team fell to the Pepperdine Waves 94-93 on the road Saturday on Jevon Porter's buzzer-beating shot as time expired in double overtime. The game ended in bizarre fashion as the Waves escaped in a heartbreaking loss for the Pilots.

Portland led by five with 12.7 seconds left in double OT, but the Waves made a layup to pull within three. After a pair of missed UP free throws, Jay Yoon made a layup and was fouled with 1.6 seconds remaining. He missed the free throw and Kristian Sjolund corralled the rebound.
