Portland Drops Midweek Matchup Against No. 25 Oregon 9-1

EUGENE, Ore. -- Junior Jake Holcroft went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI for the Portland Pilots in a 9-1 loss to the No. 25 Oregon Ducks on Tuesday.

Curtis Hebert (0-4) got the ball to start for Portland (17-11) and took the loss. Kaden Segel was a bright spot for the Pilots, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one shutout inning, allowing no hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.

At the plate, the Pilots were paced by Holcroft, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Junior Ty Saunders furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 2-for-3.
