Portland Comes up Short in 4-2 Loss to San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The San Francisco Dons were too much for Portland on the day, as the Pilots lost 4-2 on Saturday.

Junior Brock Gillis (3-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Portland (29-21). The right-hander went four innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on two hits, allowing two walks and striking out four.

Junior Christian Cooney led the way offensively for the Pilots, going 2-for-5 in the ballgame with a home run and an RBI. Sophomore Zach Toglia put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
