MADISON, Wis.-- The University of Portland men's cross country team had a solid showing Friday morning at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, placing seventh among some of the top teams in the nation. Viewed as one of the best meets during the NCAA cross-country season, outside of the NCAA Championships, the men competed in the Championship 8K on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison.
The seventh-ranked Pilots finished behind the top three teams in the nation, No. 1 Northern Arizona, No. 2 Syracuse, and No. 3 BYU. Led by Senior Timothy Ball, who placed 24thindividually (24:22.2) the Pilots earned a team score of 257.
