Pilots Take 1st Set, but the #8 Huskies Prevail in Exhibition Match

SEATTLE, Wash.---The Portland Pilots volleyball team took the first set against eighth-ranked Washington, but the Huskies prevailed 3-1 in a competitive exhibition match at Alaska Airlines Arena on Saturday afternoon. Washington took the match with set scores of 26-15, 24-26, 25-27, and 21-25.

Portland freshman Mia Wesley led the Pilots in both kills and digs with 11 and 15, respectively, while sophomore Jayde Harris also tied for the team high 11 kills. Senior Kellie Hughes added 25 assists on the day.

"I'm proud of how the team came out and battled this afternoon," said Portland head coach Megan Burton.
