SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The Portland women's tennis team swept the singles and doubles West Coast Conference Player of the Week awards after the Pilots posted a 3-0 record last weekend. Freshman Radina Dimitrova was named the singles player of the week, while the doubles tandem of Lucia Butkovska and Jelena Lazarevic earned doubles honors.
Dimitrova, a native of Sofia, Bulgaria, won all three of her singles matches at the No. 2 position in helping the Pilots to wins over BYU, Boise State and UC Irvine. She opened the weekend with a straight sets win over BYU's Toby Miclat on Friday Portland started WCC play with a victory.
